Join us under the large event tent on the historic grounds of Cedar Bridge Tavern for a special gathering recognizing Ocean County\u2019s Revolutionary War legacy and the vital role of privateers in America\u2019s fight for independence.<\/p>\n

The event will feature a League business meeting, lunch, and a featured presentation by Robert Cobb of Barnegat.<\/p>\n

This program brings important statewide attention to the history of privateering in what is now Ocean County,<\/p>\n

highlighting how Letters of Marque, authorized by representatives to the Continental Congress in April 1776.<\/p>\n
