Ocean County celebrated Independence Day with two patriotic events hosted by Ocean County Parks and Recreation, bringing residents together to honor our nation’s history. Ocean County Commissioners Jennifier Bacchione, Robert S. Arace and Sam Ellenbogen joined the community at Thursday’s Stars and Stripes Spectacular Patriotic Concert and Drone Show featuring the Wilbur Wittemann Patriotic Big Band, where numerous Ocean County departments also shared information about county programs, services and resources. The celebration continued on July 4 as Commissioners Bacchione and Arace participated in the Ringing from Sea to Shining Sea ceremony on the lawn of the historic Ocean County Courthouse. Ocean County Parks and Recreation also proudly represented the County in Philadelphia for the city’s annual Fourth of July Parade. Although the parade was canceled because of extreme heat, County staff still showcased Ocean County pride in the City of Brotherly Love.

From inspiring music and a dazzling drone show to a reading of the Declaration of Independence and the nationwide bell ringing, Ocean County celebrated the enduring spirit of America as the nation commemorated its 250th anniversary.
