A New Chapter in Stafford

A new chapter has begun for the Ocean County Library in Stafford Township!

On Oct. 5, Ocean County Commissioner Director Frank Sadeghi, Deputy Director Jennifier Bacchione, liaison to the Ocean County Library system, and Commissioner Sam Ellenbogen joined Ocean County Library staff, Stafford Township officials, project partners and community members to celebrate the grand opening of the new Stafford Branch, located at 179 South Main Street in Manahawkin.

The ceremony featured remarks from Ocean County Library Director Sue Quinn, Deputy Director Bacchione, Ocean County Library Commission Chair Henry Mancini, NJ 9th District Assemblyman Grey Myhre, New Jersey State Librarian Jennifer Nelson and Stafford Mayor Robert E. Henken. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Office also marked the occasion with a ceremonial flag raising at the new building.

The long-awaited branch offers expanded collections and spaces designed for learning, creativity and connection, including a large children’s area, teen space, intergenerational space, STEAM makerspace, sensory space and state-of-the-art technology.

The project was supported by funding through the New Jersey Library Construction Bond Act, administered by the New Jersey State Library.

Congratulations to everyone who helped bring this exciting new resource to the Stafford community!
