‘Tis the Season

The Ocean County Board of Commissioners ushered in the holiday season at the annual Ocean County Christmas Tree lighting on Dec. 6. The Director of the Ocean County Board of Commissioners Joseph H. Vicari and his wife Joyce had the help of Santa Claus himself in lighting over 6,000 LED bulbs on the 28-foot Norway Spruce located on the corner of Washington Street and Hooper Avenue in downtown Toms River – the County Seat. Also joining Commissioner Vicari were Commissioner Deputy Director Gary Quinn, Commissioners Virginia E. Haines and Barbara Jo Crea, Ocean County Sheriff Michael G. Mastronardy, and Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. The Pine Beach Elementary School Chorus provided a medley of Christmas music during the event and the Rev. James Occhipinti gave the invocation. The Ocean County Department of Buildings and Grounds is charged with overseeing the holiday decorations for Ocean County.
