Promoting Disability Awareness

In honor of October being National Disability Employment Awareness Month, the Ocean County Commission for Individuals with Disabilities and the Ocean County Workforce Development Board hosted a Disability Employment Services Fair at the Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library on Oct. 16. The event provided individuals of all abilities the opportunity to meet with employers and have access to a wide range of resources, support and information on becoming successful members in the workplace. Ocean County Commissioner Barbara Jo Crea, who serves as liaison to the Ocean County Department of Human Services, was on hand to present a proclamation from the Ocean County Board of Commissioners to members of the Ocean County Commission for Individuals with Disabilities recognizing October as Disability Employment Awareness Month in Ocean County.
