Big Wheels Keep on Turning
From dump trucks to tow trucks, buses to flat beds trailers, kids and adults had the opportunity to climb in and learn about vehicles big and small that help keep Ocean County moving. The Ocean County Board of Commissioners and the Ocean County Department of Parks and Recreation invited residents to Jakes Branch County Park for the annual touch-a-truck event on June 28. Visitors were able to see vehicles from other Ocean County Government Departments including Vehicle Services, Ocean Ride, Solid Waste Management, Roads, the Fire Marshal’s Office and the Sheriff’s Department up close and personal. In addition, local fire departments and EMS squads brought out fire trucks and ambulances to explore. Also in attendance were representatives from Ocean County’s Recycling Program, the Ocean County Library, Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission and the Ocean County Parks Department.
