Creating Nursing Opportunities
State and Ocean County officials joined with Ocean County College leaders and the Ocean County Vocational Technical School administrators in the celebration of the opening of the OCVTS pre-nursing program’s new training classrooms on the college’s Toms River campus. During the Sept. 12 ribbon cutting ceremony, Ocean County Commissioner Frank Sadeghi presented a proclamation from the Ocean County Board of Commissioners in recognition of the importance of this expanded learning location, noting these classrooms will help more students enter the nursing field. High school students who complete the two-year pre-nursing program can then take the Certified Nursing Assistant exam allowing them to begin working or continue their education and seek a higher-level nursing degree.
