On the Job Training
Adult students from the Ocean County Vocational-Technical Schools are helping to renovate the Lacey Township Elks Lodge 2158 in the Forked River Beach section of Lacey Township. More than a dozen students, along with their instructors, descended on the waterfront building both to learn new skills and to put their training to work on an actual refurbishing project. Carpentry skills and safety protocols were some of the highlights of the on-the-job training. Ocean County Commissioners Frank Sadeghi and Robert S. Arace visited the site on January 30 to see the project first hand. Both commissioners stressed the importance of the vo-tech schools and the continuing local need for well-trained, professional tradespeople.
