Protecting Consumers
Ocean County Commissioner Robert S. Arace, liaison to the Ocean County Department of Consumer Affairs led a ceremonial oath of office for Ocean County Consumer Affairs Director Ronald Heinzman, recently named President of the County and Municipal Consumer Agencies. County and Municipal Consumer Agencies was established to ensure protection of the public through education, representation, coordination, and advocacy of the enactment of statues or promulgation of regulations that will serve to protect the public. Current members consist of numerous County and local agencies, along with the N.J. State Attorney General’s Office, Office of Consumer Protection. County and Municipal Consumer Agencies is partnered with the National Association of Consumer Agency Administrators (NACAA) and North American Consumer Protection Investigators (NACPI). Joining Commissioner Arace were Stephen S. Scaturro, former Ocean County Department of Consumer Affairs Director and Chief Steven Krywinski, Hudson County Department of Law, Special Investigations/OCP Fraud Unit, both men served as past presidents. In addition, Ocean County Assistant Superintendent of Weights & Measures Cody Wilber is serving as Board Secretary for the organization.
The Ocean County Board of Commissioners supports the work of the Ocean County Department of Consumer Affairs as it protects consumers and works to assist and educate businesses on consumer laws.
