Class 121: Duty Begins

Forty new police officers will soon be patrolling communities both inside Ocean County and throughout the state of New Jersey. The Ocean County Police Academy Class Number 121 graduated before a standing-room-only crowd of friends, families, law enforcement and county officials at Georgian Court College on Friday, June 6. Special awards were given to Derrick Wiley II of the Point Pleasant Beach Police Department for High Physical Fitness, Vincent S. Ferman of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office for High Academic and Tyler J. Russell of the Wall Township Police Department for High Marksmanship and High Overall. Russell was also honored with the James J. Tracey Leadership Award. Jared S. Selby of the Berkeley Township Police Department was named the recipient of the Robert D. Melson Police Training Commission Merit Award. The graduates and their respective police departments are Taylor E. Balderose, Adriana G. Boardingham, Vincent S.
