Building Skills, Building Futures

On September 15, the Ocean County Commissioners Frank Sadeghi, Robert Arace and Jennifier Bacchione joined the Ocean County Vocational Technical School (OCVTS) for two ribbon-cutting ceremonies that celebrated opportunity and growth for students across Ocean County.
First was the Jackson Center Expansion Project, a 24,865 sq. ft. addition to the Jackson Center located at 850 Toms River Road, featuring four new state-of-the-art shops, four modern classrooms, and a new enhanced security vestibule. With space for 192 students, this investment prepares young people for in-demand careers in Electrical, Plumbing, Welding, and Medical Assisting with industry-standard tools and credentials that lead directly to good-paying jobs. This project was made possible in part through the Securing Our Children’s Future Bond Act.
Next was the Academy of Law & Public Safety (ALPS) Relocation – Starting Fall 2025, ALPS moved into Ocean County College’s Russell Building – the current home to OCVTS’s Pre-Nursing program – enhancing the Ocean County College and OCVTS partnership and opening even more pathways for students to graduate with both a diploma and college credits. ALPS is a full-time, law-and-public-safety themed high school program where students gain hands-on training in law enforcement, homeland security, and public safety while earning college credits through Ocean County College.
Together, these projects expand opportunities, strengthen workforce development, and ensure Ocean County students have the skills and education to succeed in careers that matter.
