Class 122: To Serve and Protect

Ocean County Police Academy Basic Police Recruit Class No. 122 was recognized on Aug. 22 during a graduation ceremony at Toms River High School North, following the successful completion of five months of intensive training at the academy which is led by Ocean County Sheriff Michael G. Mastronardy. The recruits were joined by family members and loved ones, their academy instructors and a host of law enforcement leaders and county Commissioners during the ceremony. “Class 122, you are ready,” said Ocean County Commissioner Robert S. Arace. “The academy has prepared you, but the real learning begins now. Every shift, every call, every interaction is a chance to grow, to lead, and to serve with a purpose.” Special awards were given to Joseph W. Manchio of the New Jersey State Park Police for High Physical Fitness and High Overall, Alexander L. Vazquez of the Trenton Police Department for High Marksmanship, and Cassidy L. Meyh of the Lacey Township Police Department for High Academic. Philip A. Falzarano of the New Jersey State Park Police was honored with the James J. Tracey Leadership Award. Brian S. Richmon of the New Jersey State Park Police was honored with the Robert D. Melson Police Training Commission Merit Award.
