The Ocean County Police Academy Basic Police Recruit Class #119 marked the completion of their intensive academy training during Graduation Ceremonies at Georgian Court University, Lakewood, on Feb. 14. Ocean County Commissioner Virginia E. Haines, joined on the dais by Ocean County Commissioner Frank Sadeghi, addressed the graduates on behalf of the Board of Commissioners and its Director John P. Kelly, liaison to the Police Academy.  “So graduates, now with your initial training completed, remember, you are entering a great profession that every day you put on that badge you have the opportunity to change someone’s life for the better,” she told the class. “You hold that amazing ability in your hands. Your work will truly make a difference.”  Also in attendance was Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and many police chiefs of the surrounding municipalities. Demarco, Ocean County Department of Corrections received the Ocean County Police Academy Instructor Award. Carlos A. Belardo, Manchester Township Police Department, was awarded the High Physical Fitness, High Marksmanship and High Overall awards. Jonathan A Munson. Galloway Township Police Department, received the High Academic Award. The Ocean County Board of Commissioners wishes the new officers a safe journey ahead.
