Congratulations Class 125
Ocean County Police Academy Basic Police Recruit Class No. 125 was recognized on June 26 during a graduation ceremony at the RWJBarnabas Health Arena, following the successful completion of five months of intensive training under the guidance of Ocean County Sheriff Michael G. Mastronardy. The recruits were joined by family members, loved ones, academy instructors, law enforcement leaders, and Ocean County Commissioner Director Frank Sadeghi and Commissioner Sam Ellenbogen, who both serve as liaisons to the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.
“To the graduates, this ceremony marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another,” Ellenbogen said. “The training, instruction, and experiences you’ve gained at the Ocean County Police Academy have prepared you for what lies ahead, but the real lessons of policing will begin when you leave this room and enter the communities you have sworn to protect.”
At the ceremony, awards were given to highly achieved graduates: Joseph A. Leskowski of the Seaside Heights Police Department was recognized for High Physical Fitness; Paul E. McAteer of the Belmar Police Department for High Marksmanship; Avery T. Latz of the Belmar Police Department for High Academic; and Kurt J. Bonin of Beach Haven Police Department for High Overall.
Also, The James J. Tracey Leadership Award was presented to Daniel P. McKiernan of the Trenton Police Department. The Robert D. Melson Police Training Commission Merit Award was presented to Christopher T. Ambrosio of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office.
