Congratulations Class 126
Ocean County Police Academy Basic Police Recruit Class No. 126 was recognized on October 6, during a graduation ceremony at Toms River North High School, following the successful completion of five months of intensive training under the guidance of Ocean County Sheriff Michael G. Mastronardy. The recruits were joined by family members, loved ones, academy instructors, law enforcement leaders, and Ocean County Commissioner Director Frank Sadeghi and Commissioner Sam Ellenbogen, who both serve as liaisons to the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.
“As you move forward, remember that the badge you wear represents more than authority, it represents trust. It is built over time, through your actions, your decisions, and the way you treat every person you encounter,” Ellenbogen said. “Carry yourselves with integrity. Lead with professionalism. And never lose sight of the responsibility that comes with the role you have chosen.”
At the ceremony, awards were given to highly achieved graduates: Gregory W. Schiariti of Trenton Police Department was recognized for High Physical Fitness and High Overall. William L. Burdge Jr., of Monroe Township Police Department was recognized for High Marksmanship. Rahmaallah W. Helmi of Trenton Police Department was recognized for High Academic.
Also, The James J. Tracey Leadership Award was presented to Andrew M. Freeman. The Robert D. Melson Police Training Commission Merit Award was presented to Jacqueline E. Graham. The Teddy Golubowski III Memorial Scholarship was presented to Nicholas A. Benjamino. The Ocean County Police Instructor Award was presented to Sgt. Mitch Cowit (Ret.) of the Jackson Township Police Department.
