The Ocean County Board of Commissioners recognized the Ocean County Vocational Technical School graduates who received scholarships from the New Jersey Association of Counties (NJAC) Foundation. Every year the NJAC Foundation awards scholarships to vocational-technical school graduates from all 21 New Jersey counties who plan to continue their education at a county college or state college or university in the fall. This year, four Ocean County students received scholarships from the NJAC Foundation. The recipients are, Somiya Leslie, Claudia Valladares, Alma Ladino and Melany Cruz. “I want to thank NJAC and its partners for their generosity in helping students who successfully complete Ocean County Vocational Technical School Programs and are now going on to college,” said the Director of the Ocean County Board of Commissioners Barbara Jo Crea. “All the scholarship recipients here today are deserving individuals who have not only worked hard academically but have gone above and beyond in helping others.” Crea was joined with John Donnadio, Executive Director of NJAC and Karen Homiek, Superintendent of Ocean County Vocational Technical Schools, during the presentation at the July 17 Board of Commissioners meeting.
