Honoring Our Veterans
The Ocean County Board of Commissioners joined with the Ocean County Veterans Services Bureau to recognize the contributions of all veterans, especially those that joined the Ocean County government staff following their time in the service. Director of the Ocean County Board of Commissioners Joseph H. Vicari with Commissioners Barbara Jo Crea, Virginia E. Haines, along with Phil Zimmerman, Director of the Ocean County Veterans Service Bureau, placed a wreath at the War Memorial on the south lawn of the Ocean County Administration Building on Hooper Avenue. In addition, the Commissioners presented Zimmerman with a proclamation recognizing Veterans Day and honoring the sacrifices and contributions of all active military and veterans. The ceremony culminated with a group photo of many of the veterans that work for Ocean County on the steps of the Administration Building. More than 10 percent of the County’ work force have served in an arm of the military.
