Making Spirits Bright

The Ocean County Board of Commissioners ushered in the holiday season at the annual Ocean County Christmas Tree lighting on Dec. 4. The Director of the Ocean County Board of Commissioners Barbara Jo Crea, joined with Ocean County children, had the help of Santa Claus himself in lighting over 6,000 LED bulbs on the 28-foot Norway Spruce located on the corner of Washington Street and Hooper Avenue in downtown Toms River – the County Seat. Also joining Commissioner Crea were Commissioner Deputy Director Gary Quinn, Commissioners Virginia E. Haines, John P. Kelly and Frank Sadeghi, Ocean County Sheriff Michael G. Mastronardy, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and other dignitaries. The Pine Beach Elementary School Chorus provided a medley of Christmas music during the event. The Ocean County Department of Buildings and Grounds is charged with overseeing the holiday decorations for Ocean County.
