In an effort to promote recycling throughout Ocean County and during the summer tourism season, Ocean County Commissioner Barbara Jo Crea, liaison to Ocean County’s recycling program, visited the BlueClaws stadium in Lakewood to video tape a public service announcement on the importance of recycling at the ball park and at home.

A Celebration of Arts and Heritage

The Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission, in conjunction with Ocean County College, presented the 12th annual Salute to Ocean County: A Celebration of Arts and Heritage at the College on April 13. The event honored Ocean County’s outstanding cultural organizations, and recognized exceptional local artists, historians, preservationists, educators and government leaders.

Space for All

Director of the Ocean County Board of Commissioners Joseph H. Vicari joined with library officials and state Assemblyman Alex Sauickie to open a new sensory room at the Jackson Branch of the Ocean County Library.

Congratulations Firefighters

Ocean County recognized 91 new firefighters at a graduation ceremony March 15. The firefighters were trained during challenging times in particular while restrictions were in place during the COVID 19 pandemic delaying any ceremonies highlighting the completion of their rigorous training at the Ocean County Training Center.

Congratulations Basic Police Class #113

With friends and family members cheering them on, 38 new police officers that just completed months of training at the Ocean County Police Academy were feted during graduation ceremonies Feb. 14 at Georgian Court University.
