Raising Awareness
Representatives of the Ocean County Board of Commissioners joined with members of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office along with crime victim advocates to raise awareness of the importance of assisting all victims of crime during Crime Victim’s Rights Week and throughout the year. A Crime Victim’s Rights Walk held April 20 on the Seaside Heights Boardwalk brought out a few hundred supporters of crime victim’s rights wearing blue or purple t-shirts highlighting the importance of the event. Ocean County Board of Commissioner Deputy Director Gary Quinn, liaison to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office along with Commissioner Virginia E. Haines presented a proclamation from the Board declaring April 21 through 27 as Crime Victim’s Rights Week to Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer, Anthony Carrington, Chief of Detectives, and Carol Froberg, Victim Witness Director, all of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office to kickoff the April 20 walk. Commissioner Frank Sadeghi also attended.
