Trucks, Tires & Tiny Drivers

Families from all over Ocean County came out to Jakes Branch County Park on June 27 for a fun-filled day at our annual Touch-a-Truck event, hosted by Ocean County Parks & Recreation and the Ocean County Board of Commissioners. Children had the exciting opportunity to explore, climb aboard, and take photos with a wide variety of vehicles—from fire trucks to construction equipment, public works vehicles, and more. Visitors were able to see vehicles from other Ocean County Government Departments including Vehicle Services, Ocean Ride, Solid Waste Management, Roads, the Fire Marshal’s Office and the Sheriff’s Department up close and personal. In addition, local fire departments and EMS squads brought out fire trucks and ambulances to explore. Also in attendance were representatives from Ocean County’s Recycling Program, Ocean County Department of Human Services, Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission and the Ocean County Parks Department.

This hands-on event gave kids a chance to meet the heroes behind the wheel, learn how these impressive machines work, and enjoy an unforgettable day of discovery and play. Thank you to our dedicated staff, local departments, and community partners who helped make this day such a success!.
