A large ceremonial key turned by LaCicero, Quinn and Sadeghi was used to unlock the ocean and welcome the unofficial start of the summer season. “The tourism industry is a $7 billion industry in Ocean County which results in the creation of about 40,000 jobs annually,” Sadeghi said. “We want to make sure that the state’s $43 billion tourism industry remains robust. The success of tourism in Ocean County comes from the many partnerships developed that help support and strengthen the industry.”
