Regenye, Public Health Coordinator and Brian Rumpf, Director of Administration and Program Development of the Ocean County Health Department and Anthony Agliata, Director of the Ocean County Planning Department to see the progress of the new warehouse building at the Ocean County Health Department located at 175 Sunset Avenue in Toms River.

Referred to as functional, not fancy, the 5,000 square feet warehouse consists of a 3,800 square foot storage area, two clinic areas, an office, a restroom and an equipment storage area. The building will provide storage of critical health supplies and will enable a rapid deployment of services when the need arises, such as performing testing for COVID-19 and other health related illnesses.

Commissioner Bacchione, who serves as liaison to the Health Department, mentioned that the new warehouse will provide much needed space for the Health Department to increase its efficiently during public health emergencies and natural disasters.

The construction project received partial funding from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, with the support of the Ocean County Board of Commissioners. The project is being completed by Santorini Construction of Neptune and is tentatively scheduled to be completed by the end of May.
