From thrilling dual ziplines and double the slides to inclusive ADA-accessible features and a spacious outdoor gym, the newly remodeled \u201cSlide City\u201d playground at Ocean County Park in Lakewood welcomes families of all ages and abilities. Ocean County Commissioners, local officials, and project partners gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Nov. 6 to mark this $1.59 million transformation\u2014funded by the American Rescue Plan Act\u2014ensuring the park remains a vibrant, healthy, and accessible space for generations to come.<\/p>\n
\u201cOcean County Park is one of our most loved and historic parks, and a place that families have been coming to for generations,\u201d Ocean County Commissioner Robert S. Arace, Chairman of the Ocean County Department of Parks and Recreation<\/span><\/span>. \u201cThe enhancements we\u2019re celebrating today build on that legacy, ensuring that this park continues to meet the needs of the families who use it every day.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The new \u201cSlide City\u201d features twice as many slides as before, plus a dual zipline that lets riders glide nearly 100 feet in a safe and thrilling way. In addition, a large outdoor gym area adds opportunities for exercise and recreation, making the space inviting for all ages to enjoy healthy, active fun together.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The playground also includes rubber surfacing, ADA-accessible walkways, and ground-level play features, creating an inclusive and accessible environment for children and adults of all abilities.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t
