American Revolution
in Ocean County Trail
As the Revolutionary War’s 250th anniversary (1775–1783) approaches, Ocean County welcomes the opportunity to recognize and celebrate this historic milestone by honoring the people, places, and events that helped shape the nation. The semiquincentennial provides a meaningful moment to reflect on the ideals of independence and civic engagement, while also broadening public understanding of the diverse experiences that contributed to America’s founding. Ocean County is committed to preserving and sharing this history in ways that educate, engage, and inspire future generations. To support this initiative, Ocean County has been awarded a grant from the National Park Service to establish, over the next two years, an American Revolution in Ocean County Trail featuring short documentaries and on-site interpretive signs at six sites of conflict, along with an additional documentary highlighting the themes of the Revolutionary experience in Ocean County.
