Honoring Our Veterans

The Ocean County Board of Commissioners joined with the Ocean County Veterans Services Bureau to recognize the contributions of all veterans, especially those that joined the Ocean County government staff following their time in the service.

Coloring Contest a Halloween Treat

More than 300 elementary school pupils across Ocean County participated in the 2023 Ocean County Department of Consumer Affairs Halloween Safety Coloring Contest displaying their artistic talents while raising awareness to be safe while enjoying Halloween activities.

Serving Our Veterans

With Ocean County being home to the largest population of veterans in New Jersey, Manchester Township will be the new site of the Ocean County Veterans Service Bureau’s satellite office. The Ocean County Board of Commissioners, Ocean County Veterans Service Bureau staff, Manchester Township Officials and local veterans celebrated the opening of the new office at the Manchester EMT Station, located at 82 Lacey Road in Whiting, with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Oct. 17.

Promoting Disability Awareness

In honor of October being National Disability Employment Awareness Month, the Ocean County Commission for Individuals with Disabilities and the Ocean County Workforce Development Board hosted a Disability Employment Services Fair at the Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library on Oct. 16.

Helping Hands

The Ocean County Board of Commissioners joined the Ocean County Veterans Service Bureau and WBNJ 91.9 FM to host a food drive for the Military Support Alliance Food Warriors Program. The event took place on Oct. 5 outside the Ocean County Southern Service Center in Manahawkin.
