Commissioner Frank Sadeghi was sworn to his first three year term on the Ocean County Board of Commissioners during the Board’s reorganization meeting Jan. 3, 2024.

A successful businessman and a long-time public servant, Commissioner Sadeghi brings years of leadership experience to the Board.

As a member of the Board, Commissioner Sadeghi serves as liaison to the Ocean County Division of Business Development and Tourism. Ocean County’s population more than doubles during the summer tourism season which generates $7 billion annually – a major part of the county’s economic engine.

As Chairman of Human Services and liaison to the Ocean County Board of Social Services, Commissioner Sadeghi works closely with those agencies and affiliated partners in making certain programs and services are in place to help the most vulnerable and needy citizens in Ocean County.

Social Services serves as a lifeline for thousands of Ocean County residents who are having a difficult time keeping food on their table or a roof over their heads. The mission of the Ocean County Board of Social Services is to serve County residents in the administration of approximately 60 programs including General Assistance, SNAP and Family Care.

Commissioner Sadeghi is a shining example of the American Dream having legally immigrated to the United States in 1976 at the urging of his father to build a better life for his mother and his three siblings. So, with $70 and the address of a distant relative in his pocket, he arrived at JFK Airport and soon found an apartment in the Bronx and a job – several of them.

A painter, a piano mover, a valet, and even a cook at a fast-food, fried chicken restaurant, Commissioner Sadeghi knows the value of hard work, and takes pride coming from humble beginnings to achieve a better life for himself and his family.

He became a proud U.S. citizen and put himself through school, graduating with both a BSCE and a BS in Land Surveying from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and earned an M.C.R.P Master’s Degree in City and Regional Planning from Rutgers University.

In 1993, less than 20 years after arriving in America, Commissioner Sadeghi founded Morgan Engineering – which now employs over 100 local residents – and is currently the Principal Owner responsible for total project management and design of municipal, residential, commercial and industrial projects. Commissioner Sadeghi started a second, successful business called Arya Properties, employing hundreds of tradesmen that live and shop in Ocean County.

A Certified Municipal Engineer and Professional Engineer in the state of New Jersey, Commissioner Sadeghi is a member of several professional societies: the American Society of Civil Engineers, the National Society of Professional Engineers, the New Jersey Society of Municipal Engineers, and the New Jersey Society of Professional Engineers.

Commissioner Sadeghi attends Jesus is Lord Fellowship Church and the First United Methodist Church of Island Heights, where he is a longtime resident with his life partner Lauren Plump, and has an adult son and daughter, the latter of whom works in the family business. Prior to his decision to run for office, Commissioner Sadeghi served in leadership positions in both the Ocean County and Toms River Republican organizations. Commissioner Sadeghi served three terms on the Toms River Regional Board of Education.

A strong fiscal conservative, Commissioner Sadeghi is eager to use his private sector experience to help Ocean County reach its full potential as the best place to live, work, raise a family and retire in New Jersey.
