Commissioner Frank Sadeghi was sworn to his first three year term on the Ocean County Board of Commissioners during the Board’s reorganization meeting Jan. 3, 2024. He serves as the Deputy Director of the Board in 2025.

A successful businessman and a long-time public servant, Deputy Director Sadeghi brings years of leadership experience to the Board.

As a member of the Board, Deputy Director Sadeghi serves as co-chair to such key Ocean County Govenment departments including Engineering Department, Road Department and Finance Department.

As co-chair of the Departments of Engineering and Roads, Deputy Director Sadeghi works closely with staff from both departments to ensure Ocean County expansive network of County roads and bridges are well maintained and safely for pedestrians and the traveling public including residents and visitors.

Deputy Director Sadeghi also serves as liaison to the Ocean County Department of Buildings and Grounds which maintains 135 Ocean County Government building across the County including the Ocean County Administration Building, a number of resource centers, and a host of facilities that welcome citizens daily to access programs and services. Deputy Director Sadeghi also serves as liaison to Ocean County's Award winning recycling program which provides both environmental and financial benefits as it protects our waterways and also helps save space at the landfill that services Ocean County's municipalities.

As liaison to the Ocean County Planning Department, Deputy Director Sadeghi provides his support to programs that include the First Time Homebuyer Program and Community Development Block Grant funding that assists towns and individuals.

Deputy Director Sadeghi is a liaison to Ocean County's Vocational Technical Schools helping to advance the mission of the school district as it provides invaluable career training in a host of trades, in addition to offering educational opportunities through its MATES program, Law and Public Safety Academy, Performing Arts Academy and Culinary Arts Academy.

Deputy Director Sadeghi is a shining example of the American Dream having legally immigrated to the United States in 1976 at the urging of his father to build a better life for his mother and his three siblings. So, with $70 and the address of a distant relative in his pocket, he arrived at JFK Airport and soon found an apartment in the Bronx and a job – several of them.

A painter, a piano mover, a valet, and even a cook at a fast-food, fried chicken restaurant, Deputy Director Sadeghi knows the value of hard work, and takes pride coming from humble beginnings to achieve a better life for himself and his family.

He became a proud U.S. citizen and put himself through school, graduating with both a BSCE and a BS in Land Surveying from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and earned an M.C.R.P Master’s Degree in City and Regional Planning from Rutgers University.

In 1993, less than 20 years after arriving in America, Deputy Director Sadeghi founded Morgan Engineering – which now employs over 100 local residents – and is currently the Principal Owner responsible for total project management and design of municipal, residential, commercial and industrial projects. Deputy Director Sadeghi started a second, successful business called Arya Properties, employing hundreds of tradesmen that live and shop in Ocean County.

A Certified Municipal Engineer and Professional Engineer in the state of New Jersey, Deputy Director Sadeghi is a member of several professional societies: the American Society of Civil Engineers, the National Society of Professional Engineers, the New Jersey Society of Municipal Engineers, and the New Jersey Society of Professional Engineers.

Deputy Director Sadeghi attends Jesus is Lord Fellowship Church and the First United Methodist Church of Island Heights, where he is a longtime resident with his life partner Lauren Plump, and has an adult son and daughter, the latter of whom works in the family business. Prior to his decision to run for office, Deputy Director Sadeghi served in leadership positions in both the Ocean County and Toms River Republican organizations. Deputy Director Sadeghi served three terms on the Toms River Regional Board of Education.

A strong fiscal conservative, Deputy Director Sadeghi uses his private sector experience to help Ocean County reach its full potential as the best place to live, work, raise a family and retire in New Jersey.
