As one of Ocean County's Constitutional Officers, Jeffrey W. Moran
as Surrogate, serves as Deputy Clerk of the Superior Court, Chancery Division, Probate Part in the County of Ocean.

The Constitutional responsibilities of the Surrogate include probating wills and administrating estates of persons who died intestate. The Surrogate appoints guardians for minors and administers monies belonging to minors. The Surrogate processes complaints relative to persons being charged with mental incompetence. He also governs the process of adoption papers and complaints for the Court.

Mr. Moran brings many years of public service to this position. He has served as a member of the New Jersey State Legislature representing the 9th Legislative District for nine terms. He is a former Beachwood Councilman.
