TOMS RIVER - On Wednesday, November 6, 2024 the following areas will be closed to pedestrian traffic at every level of the Ocean County Parking Garage :
• West side elevator (closest to Hooper Ave.),
• The majority of the lobby area(s), and
• The short walking bridge to the 129 Hooper Avenue building.
At every level of the parking garage, the east side elevator and a small section of the lobby area will remain open for use. Pedestrians will have access to the east side elevator for use. The stairwell (closest to Hadley Avenue) will remain open during this time.
In addition, the south entrance access from Hadley Avenue is still closed. All vehicles using the Ocean County Parking Garage will be required to enter through the north side entrance located on Madison Avenue. Rehabilitation work on garage floors 1 through 4 on the south side of the structure will begin.
In some areas of the garage there will be reduced parking, however spots will still be available on the north sides of floors 1 through 4 and all of floor 5.
During this time, handicapped spots will be relocated and walking paths will be made available for people to get to the lobby area on each floor to access the stairwell and elevators.
