As part of an ongoing partnership of shared services, the Ocean County Board of Commissioners is proud to showcase the shared services agreement between Ocean County and many of its 33 municipalities. These agreements are for the period of Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2026 contingent upon the adoption of the 2026 County Budget.

What Are Schedule "C" Services?
Schedule "C" Services are shared service agreements that allow Ocean County to support local municipalities with road maintenance, engineering assistance, and vehicle services. These agreements help towns save money, reduce duplication, and keep important infrastructure projects moving efficiently.
Here's what that includes:
• Road Department Services: Municipalities can use the Ocean County Road Department for projects such as paving, sweeping, and other roadway maintenance needs.
• Engineering Services: Towns can request support from the County Engineering Department for projects that connect with or impact a County road, helping ensure safety, consistency, and proper planning.
• Vehicle Services: Municipalities can access the Ocean County truck wash to maintain their public works, emergency, and service vehicles. This not only extends vehicle life but also helps towns meet important federal and state environmental requirements related to equipment washing and stormwater management.

Overall, Schedule "C" Services help strengthen partnerships across Ocean County and ensure communities receive high-quality support at a lower cost.

Approved during the March 4 Board Meeting, through an Intergovernmental Agreement, Ocean County will provide:
•The Borough of Surf City, the Township of Berkeley and the Borough of South Toms River with Schedule "C" Road Department services, Schedule "C" Engineering Department services, and Schedule "C" Vehicle Services Department services.
• The Borough of Little Egg Harbor with Schedule "C" Road Department services and Schedule "C" Engineering Department services.
• The Borough of Seaside Park with Schedule "C" Road Department services and Schedule "C" Vehicle Services Department services.
• The Ocean County Utilities Authority, the Borough of Island Heights and the Township of Lacey with Schedule "C" Road Department services.
• The Jackson Township Municipal Utilities Authority with Schedule "C" Vehicle Services Department services.


Approved during the Feb. 11 Board Meeting through an Intergovernmental Agreement, Ocean County will provide:
• The Borough of Beachwood and the Borough of Pine Beach with Schedule "C" Road Department services, Schedule "C" Engineering Department services and Schedule "C" Vehicle Services Department services.
• The Township of Lakewood, the Borough of Lakehurst, the Borough of Beach Haven, the Borough of Bay Head, the Borough of Harvey Cedars, the Borough of Barnegat Light and the Ocean County Vocational Technical School with Schedule "C" Road Department services and Schedule "C" Engineering Department Services.
• The Township of Eagleswood, the Township of Barnegat and Toms River Regional Schools with Schedule "C" Road Department services and Schedule "C" Vehicle Services Department services.
• The Borough of Seaside Heights, the Township of Manchester, the Borough of Mantoloking, and Ocean County College with Schedule "C" Road Department Services.
