Beginning 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 27, Ocean County will begin work to restripe Prospect Street.

The work includes removing the current striping followed by restriping Prospect Street from 200 feet north of Cross Street to Williams Street to a three-lane section that includes a two-way center left turn lane, left turn lanes at specific intersections and two through lanes throughout.

Prospect Street will remain open throughout the project but traffic will be shifted on the roadway to allow County forces to complete the work.

The Prospect Street project will begin with striping removal at 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 27, and the majority of work is anticipated to be completed by 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 28. Thursday is reserved for any work not completed on Wednesday.

The James Street closure will be put in place as part of preliminary work for the construction of a traffic signal at the intersection of James Street and Williams Street. Ocean County is re-profiling James Street to reduce the grade of the road east and west of the Conrail railroad track just west of Williams Street. James Street will be closed from Sunset Road to Williams Street with local traffic being permitted from Sunset Road to Freedom Drive.
