What happens after I submit a completed application? An Employee Relations’ representative will review the application for areas of interest and qualifications as they relate to current vacancies. Your application may be forwarded to various department(s) for review. If a department is interested in conducting an interview, an authorized County representative will contact you.
How long will my application be on file? One (1) year from the date the Department of Employee Relations receives the application.
How often are new jobs / vacant positions posted? New jobs/vacant positions which are subject to open competitive exam are posted on the New Jersey Civil Service Commission web site under the heading of Job Announcements and Testing Information. It is suggested that job seekers bookmark this web page : Job Announcements and Testing Information and regularly check and file for positions of interest.
Will I automatically be considered for every new opening for which I qualify? Employee Relations regularly reviews all applications filed with the County to determine compatibility of job seekers as they relate to specific areas of employment openings. In addition, applications are given further consideration by departments seeking to fill a funded vacancy for either non competitive or provisional pending open competitive opportunities. We encourage job seekers to concurrently check the New Jersey Civil Service Commission web site for open competitive announcements. Please note that when filing on the Civil Service web site each announcement requires a separate application.
