Our Facilities

Recycling Centers

If you missed the recycling truck, you can bring your recyclables to our drop-off areas. Additionally, we have a special waste station for other items such as electronics, paint, waste oil, light bulbs, and more. Our Northern & Southern Recycling Centers welcome all residents and taxpayers of Ocean County.

Residents can also get FREE mulch and compost from our facilities.

Open Monday through Saturday 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Saturdays residents only, no commercial).

Resident Dropoff Areas open Monday through Saturday 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. (closed on Sundays and some holidays).

Southern Recycling Center

Located at 379 Haywood Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050

Visit the Recylables Drop-off (350 Haywood Rd.) for:
Resident Dropoff Area
Cardboard, paper, bottles, & cans.
Clothing/Textile Donation Bins.

Visit Building #105 (379 Haywood Rd.) for:
Special Waste Disposal
Brush & Leaves Disposal
Free Compost & Mulch

Education Center

Located at the Northern Recycling Center in Lakewood Township and adjacent to the county's Recyclable Materials Processing Facility (MPF), the Recycling Education Center is used to provide presentations to guests touring the facility.

The center is also used for meetings, recycling and composting classes, workshops, and other related environmental events.

The area behind our Recycling Education Center includes a composting demonstration garden, which is open to the public from Mon-Sat 8:30 am to 3:00pm (please email compost@co.ocean.nj.us beforehand to coordinate).
