Workforce Development Board

The Ocean County Workforce Development Board (OCWDB) serves as the strategic leader and convener of local workforce development system stakeholders. The OCWDB partners with employers and the workforce development system to develop policies and investments that support public workforce system strategies that support regional economies, the development of effective approaches, including local and regional sector partnerships and career pathways, and high-quality, customer-centered service delivery and service delivery approaches.

The purpose of the OCWDB is to:
  • Provide strategic and operational oversight in collaboration with the required and additional partners and workforce stakeholders to help develop a comprehensive and high-quality workforce development system in the local area and larger planning region

  • Assist in the achievement of the State’s strategic and operational vision and goals as outlined in the Unified State Plan of Combined State plan

  • Maximize and continue to improve the quality of services, customer satisfaction, and effectiveness of the services provided


Accessing Career Services, Education, and Training
The Ocean County Career Center provides a full range of career and training services, tailored to meet individual interests, existing skills, and the skills needed to transition into the workforce. The Ocean County Career Center and its partner organizations help people find employment, assist employers in finding qualified workers, and support individuals facing challenges and barriers to employment. Get Involved
Ocean County Workforce Development Board meetings are open to the public. Meetings are currently held on the second Tuesday quarterly at 10:00am. Representatives from local businesses and employers are strongly encouraged to participate. Your feedback, perspectives, and involvement are valued and essential to advancing the Board’s mission and goals. Please contact Human Services to be added to the e-mailing list for meeting notices and other important announcements.
