Department of Solid Waste Management

Residents can bring up to 20 paint cans per day to designated sites for proper disposal. This program only accepts latex, oil-based, spray, and boat paints. Stains, varnishes, polyurethanes, and wood preservatives are NOT accepted.

Accepted Items:

Full or empty paint cans (both steel and plastic)

Locations:

Northern Recycling Center:
601 New Hampshire Avenue, Lakewood, NJ (Drop off at Special Waste Building 68)

Southern Recycling Center:
379 Haywood Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050 (Drop off at Special Waste building 105)

This program is open to RESIDENTS ONLY, contractors and commercial businesses are not permitted to use it.

Buy only what you need, use a Paint Calculator tool before you purchase

Contractors and commercial businesses must contract with an approved vendor for paint waste disposal.
