Leaves & Brush

Ocean County Recycling Centers accept leaves and light brush from residents and landscapers during regular business hours (7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday [Saturdays for residents only]).

Unbagged leaves are accepted at both the Northern and Southern Recycling Centers.

Brush is accepted at either center, 4 inches in diameter or less.

Some municipalities offer collection or drop-off services for leaves and brush, contact your local DPW Contacts by Municipality

Green yard wase (grass clippings, weeds, vines, etc.), construction wood, and stumps are not accepted.

Saturdays are for residential material only. No material from landscapers or municipalities shall be accepted on Saturdays.

Free mulch, compost and woodchips

Compost and wood chips are available free of charge to Ocean County residents and municipalities. Residents picking up compost and wood chips at the Northern Recycling Center must use the South Oberlin Avenue entrance. Residential pick-up of this material is limited to one pickup truck or single-axle trailer-sized load.
