Cultural & Heritage Commission

General Rules Special Rules for 2024

1. All works must be original and can not be plagiarized.


2. All submission must be submitted with a release of rights to display, reprint or offer in other media (including but not limited to electronic or print) from the student or their legal guardian if student is not a legal adult.


3. Decision of money allotted to each category is solely at the discretion of the Ocean County Culture and Heritage Commission


4. All decisions of the Commission will be final.


5. Rules may change without notice.

Specific Student Awards

1. Award: Documentary, commissioned by the C&H Commission – one award of $650 to school selected by the full C&H Commission. Completed Documentaries (maximum 5 minutes) must be submitted to the C&H Commission office by 5:00 PM EST of March , 2024.


2. Award: Dance – one award of $650 to artist selected by two members of the C&H Commission from the works either selected to be forwarded to the NJ Teen Arts Festival, the traveling Teen Arts display or works critiqued for excellence during the Ocean County Teen Arts Festival.


3. Award: Vocal – one award of $650 to artist selected by two members of the C&H Commission from the works either selected to be forwarded to the NJ Teen Arts Festival, the traveling Teen Arts display or works critiqued for excellence during the Ocean County Teen Arts Festival.


4. Award: Instrumental - one award of $650 to artist selected by two members of the C&H Commission from the works either selected to be forwarded to the NJ Teen Arts Festival, the traveling Teen Arts display or works critiqued for excellence during the Ocean County Teen Arts Festival.


5. Award: Theater / Musical Theater - Two awards of $650 to artists selected by two members of the C&H Commission from the works either selected to be forwarded to the NJ Teen Arts Festival, the traveling Teen Arts display or works critiqued for excellence during the Ocean County Teen Arts Festival.


6. Award: Creative Writing/Poetry – one award of $650 to artist selected by members of the C&H Commission from the works either selected to be forwarded to the NJ Teen Arts Festival or works critiqued for excellence during the Ocean County Teen Arts Festival.


7. Award: Film - one award of $650 to artist selected by the members of the Commission from the works either selected to be forwarded the NJ Teen Arts Festival or works critiqued for excellence during the Ocean County Teen Arts Festival.


8. Award: Visual Arts – one award of $650 to artist selected by two members of the C&H Commission from the works either selected to be forwarded to the NJ Teen Arts Festival, the traveling Teen Arts display or works critiqued for excellence during the Ocean County Teen Arts Festival.
